You have goals for your property. Does
your organization share those goals?
You know how things need to work, but what
happens when you are not actually present to oversee
the work product? That is the role of control procedures
– those expectations and instructions that guide
employees every minute of their work day. The examples
above are examples of failures of these control procedures.
Our services optimize the control procedures
that make a hotel work. Our experience as owners and
operators of hotel properties allow us to assess where
your procedures, the instructions given to your employees
every day, are not in alignment with your objectives,
or are not being followed. Also, we identify monitoring
points to allow you to positively know when something
has not been performed.
The benefits of optimizing your internal
control structure include:
• Improve the revenue stream of the hotel
• Reduce operating expenses
• Improve the performance and morale of employees
• Protect the assets of the hotel
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations
• Improve the accuracy of financial reports
Since many of these benefits are inter-related,
we call the total effect “Value Acceleration”
to reflect the holistic improvements in performance
you can expect from this process.
We segmented this process into three phases
that allow you to proceed at your own pace, and to specifically
identify and prioritize trouble areas for action. In
this manner, you decide your financial and time commitment
to the improvement process.

make sure we say we determine the client’s expectations,
e.g. world class performance, cost leadership]]]

Rapid Assessment |
| |
In this phase we survey your operation, catalogue
the major processes, and determine, at a high
level, the ability of that process to produce
consistent results in line with your expectations.
Those processes that do not appear to be sufficiently
documented or supported are prioritized for detailed
analysis.

| 2. |
Control Assessment |
| |
In this phase we examine the processes
and the underlying tasks at a detailed level to
identify the objectives of each task, and obstacles
to complete that task. From this analysis we identify
the gaps that prevent your processes from achieving
the expected results. We then work with you to
identify corrective action plans.

Transaction Analysis |
| |
In certain cases, a critical business process
could have a major control shortfall. In those
cases, we often recommend an analysis of the underlying
transactions to determine if any non-conforming
transactions were processed.
